The new Te3, like its older brother, is again an epicyclic driven turntable. We call it an Epidrive and there’s nothing really misterious about it. We took the old idler approach, stripped it of a lot of complication and left its defining attribute – the motor directly (almost) spins the platter with nothing in between.
Today, this is achievable because modern digital electronics and motors enable us to spin them at the required fairly slow speeds accurately and efficiently.
Where the new Te3 significantly differs from the Te2 is in its impossible to beat compactness and in the simplification of methods and materials. This allow us to offer a turntable that is smaller, lighter and less expensive than its predecessor without losing any of its defining characteristics.
Arm / Cartridge combination
We don’t offer any standard fit tonearm and/or cartridge. We let that choice to our knowledgeable customers, but we are always available to help if needed.
Almost any tonearm between 9″-11″ will fit within its mounting rails. A mounting adapter will be provided for your tonearm of choice, and more can be provided at any time for a moderate additional fee.
As an example, the tonearm displayed on the right is a Jelco SA-750EB – a 10″ tonearm – sadly no longer available.
Colours
Except for the tonearm support and the speed controls area, the whole plinth is finished in highly durable Alcantara (TM). Two colours are available, black and dark brown.
However, for a small additional cost, we can finish your turntable in any of the available colours from Alcantara’s extensive palette.
Optional Dust Cover
For protection from dust – and little prying fingers – an optional dust cover is also available.
